India three

when you think of where i am you would never be able to imagine the luxuries that i am enjoying. this volunteer gig treats me like CJ on the set of baywatch. the house that i am living in is one of the nicest houses that i have ever lived. my back patio looks out to the himalayas and the marble bathroom floor is nice enough to eat from. the weight that was lost on the trek is easily finding its way back onto my body with things like cookies and cereal available at all times. i am averaging about seven meals a day. we have a chef, cleaning ladies, cable tv, a library, a dog, and enough toilet paper to reach pakistan. i love it but feel guilty as hell. driving back from work and having lepers with one leg begging you for a cent as you make your way for one of the nicest neighborhoods in palampur really feels terrible. india really is the worst of humanity and the best of humanity all wrapped into one. i am in the upper state of himachal pradesh which sits at the base of the himalayas and is much cooler in temperature than the rest of scalding india. the volunteer work remains positive, i never knew how exhausting kids really were. many are too young to realize that i dont speak hindi so they constantly yell at me in the crazy language that they think i understand.
